Seas of Change: Intelligence or Folly

Crisis can provide enormous spiritual growth for self and society. Each of the Number Cycles 1 to 9 offers us opportunities to find different types of solutions to life’s challenges. Numerology enables us to tap into our subconscious mind or soul where we can find all the answers and access infinite potential to help lead us forwards. We are able to contact soul by applying intuition, which we do when we look at a General Date, Birth Date, name or word. Positive growth always arises out of challenging situations, and like a phoenix out of the ashes our soul shines more powerful and bright. Numerology helps us to see the bigger picture so that we can find a sense of proportion, and relax with the process of change.
Clues to problem solving can also be found in the past, but it’s only by applying the light of truth can we heal the world together. For example, 2010 is a 3 Year Cycle (2+0+1+0 = 3) and last time we were collectively influenced by the 3-Cycle was nine years ago in 2001 (2+0+0+1 = 3). We can ask ourselves, ‘What major issues were arising for us and the world back then?’ ‘What situations occurred?’ ‘What lessons have we learned, and is there any more wisdom to be gleaned from those situations so that we can live happier, healthier or more inspired lives now and in the future?’
‘Where there’s a problem there’s always an answer,’ they say. Well we’re funny creatures and even with intelligence and education we still smoke, drink, fight for power, and take unnecessary risks – will we ever learn? We are only human and we repeat mistakes over and over again in the 9 Cycles of life, until we finally give in, grow up, and decide to take responsibility.
So how do we go about changing a seemingly stubborn situation? No.1 STOP; create space to breathe, to be. No.2 RECOGNIZE; the situation, problem or underlying patterns within ourselves clearly, and use intuition to contact soul potential. No.3 POSITIVE ACTION; do something about the situation, problem or crisis by adopting positive thoughts and following through with actions. This 3-Year highlights expansion, self-expression, and self-recognition so that we can see what we’re doing – the game is up.
So what issues are immediately presenting in the current Week 22 of this 3-Cycle? The ‘Macondo Prospect’ oil field leak in The Gulf Of Mexico. It’s been described as ‘a tragedy’, ‘an environmental disaster’, and ‘heartbreaking’ by President Obama. We ask ourselves what good can possibly come out of such an atrocious situation? Let’s look at the date.
The Deepwater Horizon rig exploded on 20.4.2010 = 27/9 (20+4+2+0+1+0 = 27; 2+7 = 9). The Day Number 20/2 highlights the element of water, deep emotions, protection, love, and care, and asks us to keep life simple. This number highlights the completion of a major lesson, process or experience, where higher levels of wisdom we can be put to good use. The overall date adds up to 27/9, and it’s the same Year Number as the Exon Valdez Alaskan oil spill in1989 (1+9+8+9 = 27; 2+7 = 9). (BP as an abbreviation may also be viewed as another 27/9). The 27/9 highlights the need for discrimination, sensitivity, and provides us with new ideas (seeds to sew) that can help sustain our long-term commitments or provide for future generations. This cycle enhances important decision-making, when old ideas can be wiped out instantly and be replaced with fertile options, with the pure intention of service.
The word FIRE and the name of the oil field ‘MACONDO’ both = 29/11/2. This highlights spiritual purification, love and wisdom, and provides a powerful wake up call for humanity. It reminds us to collaborate, share our resources, and to always do what’s best. The word OIL = 18/9, highlights old laws and order, power, beliefs and values, and asks us to revaluate. We are taking stock. The positive message that’s resounding around the world is that we collectively want to protect our seas. Indeed, tthe Exon disaster in 1989 was the 40th major oil spill, and now more than 20 years later the crisis is even more significant.
Lakes and oceans are now the toxic dumping grounds of modern man, but we need to remember that we are reliant on the natural order in nature for our own survival. We were born out of water, and humanity is reliant upon this source if life is to continue. Indeed, we are reminded of the importance of clean drinking water in, ‘The Rime Of The Ancient Maryner’ by English poet T.S.Elliott. ‘Water, Water everywhere and all the boards did shrink, water, water everywhere, Nor any drop to drink.’
Fish stocks in our oceans are 15% of what they were before the industrial revolution. (Greenpeace stats). 15/6 highlights choice, change, and the need to release selfish desires in order to serve and provide for the group. Oil and pollutants have disturbed the natural migration routes of fish. The biblical, ‘Sea Of Galilea’ has almost dried up, and their tiny local, ‘Fish Of St Peter’ which provided plenty thousands of years ago have been granted a two year protection order. They may need longer. Are we nearing a ‘tipping point’ and is this a symbolic message for the rest of the world?
During this 3-Year cycle (2010) adaptability is the answer. Scientists already possess many of the answers we need to enable us to live lightly on the earth, with advancements in wind and sea based power generators, and natural algaes that can clean up our seas. For those in business, these new technologies will create fortunes, but will this time around also provide safety and security for our planet. We’re preparing to get serious about responsibility in 2011 (a 4-Year highlighting this issue).
Finally, the Icelandic Volcano that erupted over Europe recently may have been seen as a crisis (for the airline industry). Paradoxically the clouds of volcanic ash are full of nutrients that have been generously dispersed over much of Europe to ensure fertility for future generations. What a solution.
